Christmas Tree Fresh
Picking and decorating your Christmas tree is a tradition that brings families together for the holiday season. Sterling Greenery’s selection of fresh, northern grown Christmas trees makes it easy to pick and bring home a tree that your family will enjoy.
There are four things you should do to keep your Christmas tree fresh and green throughout the holiday season.
1. Pick a pre-cut tree: Sterling Greenery sources our Christmas trees from the highest-quality Northern growers so you can be confident you’re getting a fresh tree that lasts longer than “cut your own” trees. This is because our pre-cut trees are dormant and don’t need water until they wake up.
2. Pick a heavier tree: Christmas trees that are heavier are happier because they are full of water.
3. Check water levels in your tree stand daily: You want to be sure that your Christmas tree trunk is sufficiently submerged in water by getting down and looking. It’s a good idea to water daily if needed to keep the tree stand full.
4. Place your tree away from heat: Christmas trees can dry out quickly if they are near heat sources like radiators and fireplaces.
Remember to give your tree a fresh cut by removing at least two inches of the stump right before you bring it in. This allows your Christmas tree to absorb water as it warms up in your house.
